Patented plasma technologies that address the technical and environmental requirements of a low-carbon industry: electric high-temperature heat, and clean hydrogen with solid carbon from (bio)methane.
Plasma is often referred to as the fourth state of matter. When a gas is heated to sufficiently high temperatures, it becomes ionised and transitions into a plasma state, where charged particles make the medium electrically conductive — yet the medium stays electrically neutral overall. The sun, lightning and electric arc discharges are all plasmas.
Thermal plasma induces three physical effects at once: thermal, chemical and hydrodynamic. Our three-phase torch is built to use all three.
Thermal effect
Arc temperatures above 3,000 °C deliver electric heat for melting, cracking and high-temperature processes.
Chemical effect
The ionised gas drives reactions without oxygen — the basis of methane pyrolysis into hydrogen and solid carbon.
Hydrodynamic effect
The moving three-phase arc stirs and mixes the gas stream, so the whole flow sees the plasma.
WHICH ONE FOR YOUR PROCESS?
Heat, or hydrogen and carbon.
Plasma Torch — when you need clean heat
Replace a burner with an electric arc: furnaces, kilns, gasifiers, vitrification. Compatible with specialty and neutral gases, dusty or hot feedstock, 1–6 barg.
Sectors: heavy industries, waste treatment.
HyPlasma® — when you need hydrogen and carbon
A turnkey unit that converts (bio)methane into hydrogen and solid carbon in one step, with no direct CO₂. Available as a containerised 100 kW unit or a 2 MW plant.
